Accepting Jesus as Your Saviour, Is By Following Him: 12th Sunday Ordinary Time

Introduction
(12th Sunday Ordinary Time)
June 23, 2013

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, good morning!

In life, we pass through various problems and hardships.  The way we face them marks our identity as Christians. Believing in Jesus, we cannot but live by his words and face life’s difficulties with hope. Behind Jesus’ words for us today is a challenge.  If we want to belong to Jesus, we must deny ourselves in love, take up our cross in sacrifice and follow Him in service.
Let us all stand for the entrance hymn!

Prayers of the Faithful
(12th Sunday Ordinary Time)

(Priest):                        The Lord invites us to carry our own cross after Him. St Paul says that it is our way of filling up what is lacking in the suffering of Christ, for the sake of Christ’s Body, which is the Church.  Full of confidence, we pray:

“Lord, hear our prayer”

(Reader):
·       That those who dedicate their lives to the service of the Lord and the Church may always find strength and consolation in Christ, the pioneer in the way of the cross.  We pray: (R)

·       That those who hold public office may die to the lure of money and power, and find the true meaning of life in God.  We pray: (R)

·       That the hungry, the homeless and unemployed may be empowered by the help extended to them by individuals and communities of faith.  We pray: (R)

·        That we may be spared from natural and man-made calamities, and blessed by the Lord in all our honest endeavors and plans.  We pray: (R)

·       That the Lord may keep us all in safety, give joy to our days, and welcome into His kingdom our departed loved ones.  We pray: (R)

(Priest):                        Father most powerful, we trust in You.  Hear the petitions which we carry before You today, together with the Lord Jesus, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever.  Amen.

Feast of the Ascension of the Lord: Cycle C

Introduction (Feast of the Ascension of the Lord) A pleasant day to everyone and Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers! Today we celebrate Ascension Sunday, the time when the Risen Christ goes up to heaven to take his place at the right hand of the Father. In his exultation, Christ receives sovereign authority and power over creation and all history. But the Ascension is also a saving event for us. “It is much better for you that I go . .  If I go, I will send the Paraclete to you”. The Risen Christ continues to work with us amid our current situation and realities. Today, we also celebrate the 47 th World Communications Day with the theme proposed by Pope Benedict XVI:   “Social Networks: portals of truth and faith; new spaces for evangelization.”   May our choices, preferences and judgments be fully consistent with the Gospel.         Please rise for the entrance hymn!

Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time Yr. B

Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time   Entrance: I Sing The Mighty Power of God Table Of Plenty Great is Our God Kyrie: Lord Have Mercy Light from Light Gloria: Glory to God (Tinnah) Gospel Ac: Alleluia (Light from Light) Reading 1 GN 2:18-24 The LORD God said: "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a suitable partner for him." So the LORD God formed out of the ground various wild animals and various birds of the air, and he brought them to the man to see what he would call them; whatever the man called each of them would be its name.  The man gave names to all the cattle, all the birds of the air, and all wild animals; but none proved to be the suitable partner for the man. So the LORD God cast a deep sleep on the man, and while he was asleep, he took out one of his ribs and closed up its place with flesh. The LORD God then built up into a woman the rib that he had taken from the man. When he brought her to the man, the man said: "This one,...
